Description
Akutol™ hydrogel is a paraben-free hydrocolloid gel indicated for the treatment of topical dry or moist wounds. Akutol™ hydrogel is a medical device that indirectly promotes wound healing by regulating the wound microenvironment.
Usage
1. Clean the injured area of any mechanical debris by rinsing with clean water, disinfect the wound and then dry it carefully. 2. Apply Akutol™ Hydrogel directly to the affected area by squeezing the applicator. If possible, do not touch the wound site with your hands. 3. Apply a continuous layer of gel over the entire area of the affected area. 4. Cover the wound treated with Akutol™ Hydrogel with a non-absorbent, breathable dressing. (e.g. sterile polyurethane cover), for minor wounds a plaster or bandage will suffice. 5. For incised wounds, renew the Akutol™ Hydrogel layer for 24 hours, then clean the wound with a rinse of running lukewarm water or sterile solution (depending on the severity of the injury) and inspect the wound. 6. For chronic wounds, a thick layer of gel (0.5 - 0.75 cm) may be applied and the dressing left on for 1 - 3 days until the gel has disappeared. 7. If the wound is smooth and closed, it is not necessary to continue further treatment. 8. Otherwise, apply a new layer of Akutol™ Hydrogel and repeat the application and inspection process until the affected area is healed.
Ingredients
Water, stearyl hexanoate, acid colloidal carbomer, cetearyl ethyl hexanoate, carnosine and preservatives: sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate.
