Description
Avilut 3-forte Recordati is a dietary supplement that contains fish oil containing docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). These acids (DHA and EPA) are highly concentrated in the cells of the eye.
- DHA contributes to maintaining normal vision. A beneficial effect is achieved with a daily intake of 250 mg of DHA.
- Zinc contributes to maintaining normal vision.
- Vitamin E contributes to protecting cells from oxidative stress.
- Lutein and zeaxanthin are among the carotenoids that form an important group of antioxidants. These carotenoids accumulate in higher amounts especially in the yellow spot of the retina of the eye (macula). However, with increasing age, the concentration of carotenoids in the eye decreases. The yellow spot (macula lutea) contains a high concentration of the pigments: lutein and zeaxanthin.
