Actinic Control MD SPF 100 is a certified medical device for the prevention of actinic keratosis and non-melanoma skin cancers. It also serves as a supportive additional treatment for actinic keratosis.
Damage to keratinocyte DNA due to UV radiation can lead to the development of actinic keratosis. Actinic keratosis is the most common precancerous skin condition that, if left untreated, can develop into non-melanoma skin cancers (squamous cell carcinoma).
However, proper sun protection can make a major difference.
The high effectiveness of Actinic Control MD SPF 100 is due to its high sun protection factor of SPF 100. The higher the SPF value, the less UVB radiation penetrates the skin, and UVB radiation is the main cause of skin cell damage.
The less UVB radiation penetrates the skin, the fewer skin cells are over time, damaged by the sun. For example, a sun protection factor of SPF 100 protects the skin against 99% of UVB radiation.
A high SPF of 100 can also compensate for insufficient sun protection.
