Description
Echinacea, Rudbeckia, or Echinacea purpurea, is a well-known ornamental plant, but since ancient times it has been used mainly as a medicinal plant. This perennial plant with beautiful red flowers is used for medicinal purposes whole, but the most active substances are contained in the root. Echinacea grows on the prairies of North America and is one of the traditional plants used by Native Americans.
Its effects are due to a variety of substances such as sesquiterpene alcohols, essential oils, tannins and others. It is used in various forms, for example, in the form of tea, often also in the form of capsules, but the most effective is an alcoholic solution. It supports natural immunity and has a beneficial effect on the upper respiratory tract and urinary tract.
