The roots are mainly processed and contain ecdysteroids, essential oils, tannins, coumarins, flavonoids, alkaloids.
Of particular practical importance are sesquiterpenic lactones, which have been shown to be biologically active. It is used in various forms, often as an infusion, but the tincture has stronger effects. Leuzea shows tonic and immunostimulating effects similar to ginseng. Dosage
After shaking 15 drops 3 times a day, a daily dose of 45 drops corresponds to an extract of 940 mg of fresh plant material.
