Milk thistle Max 3500 mg contains an extract from milk thistle seeds, which has been used for centuries in traditional medicine as a means of supporting the function of the liver and biliary tract.
The active ingredients of milk thistle are the flavonolignans silybin, silydianin and silychristin, collectively referred to as silymarin. Their highest concentration is found in the fruit, then in the leaves and seeds. These substances bind to the membranes of liver cells and thus prevent the entry of toxic substances into the liver tissue. In addition, they also support the regeneration of liver cells, have a positive effect on immunity and act as powerful antioxidants. It is reported that the antioxidant effects of silymarin are up to 10 times higher than, for example, vitamin E.
