Description
MAX CRANBERRIES - North American cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon) is a rich source of natural substances with physiological effects, such as proanthocyanidins (PAC), organic acids, vitamins and minerals.
One of the most important substances contained in cranberry berries is arbutin (phenolic glycoside). It is a urinary tract antiseptic, a kind of herbal antibiotic beneficial for the treatment of the kidneys and bladder. Cranberries also acidify urine, which is an unpleasant environment for bacteria to live and reproduce.
Cranberries also contain vitamin C, which is important for the healing of the urinary tract mucosa. Urinary tract infections are quite common, especially in women. Infections usually begin when bacteria colonize the bladder mucosa and cause inflammation (cystitis). The infection can spread to the kidneys, causing nephritis.
