Description
Herbisland syrup contains Icelandic lichen extract. It is a traditional herbal remedy recommended for: dry irritating cough hoarseness in the throat. Icelandic lichen extract contains high levels of water-soluble mucilaginous substances believed to coat, protect, moisturize and soothe the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat.
About Icelandic Lichen Icelandic lichen has been used in folk medicine since the 17th century.
It grows profusely throughout almost the entire northern hemisphere, and is especially characteristic of the lava slopes and plains of Iceland, from which it takes its name. It is a branched bush lichen up to 10 cm high. The upper side of the Icelandic lichen is olive green, and the lower side is mottled white-gray.
Dosage
The usual dose for adults and adolescents over 16 years of age is 15 ml (3 measuring spoons) of syrup four times a day. The usual dose for children aged 10 to 16 years is 10 ml (2 measuring spoons) of syrup four times a day. The usual dose for children aged 4 to 10 years is 5 ml (1 measuring spoon) of syrup four times a day. The usual dose for children aged 1 to 4 years is 2.5 ml (1/2 measuring spoon) of syrup four times a day.
Ingredients
Iceland lichen extract, purified water, liquid sorbitol, xanthan gum, sodium benzoate, citric acid monohydrate, lemon flavor (ethanol).
